The choice comes down to what you want the glass to do

Let light in, block the view — frosted film. The standard solution for meeting rooms, clinic windows and the lower half of a shopfront.

Carry a message — printed vinyl. Opaque, full colour, and the right answer for offers, service lists and imagery.

Just the words and the logo — cut vinyl lettering. No background at all, so the glass stays clear around the letters. Clean, cheap, and hard to get wrong.

Advertise outward, see outward — one-way vision film. Perforated so the print reads from outside while you keep a view out from inside.

Inside or outside

Apply on the inside face of the glass whenever the design allows. Sun, sand and passers-by all shorten the life of an externally applied graphic, and Dubai supplies plenty of all three. Interior application can last years longer for the same cost.

Practical notes on shopfronts

• Frosting at seated height gives privacy where it is needed without making the shop look shut.
• Opening hours and phone number on the door get read constantly, and cost almost nothing.
• Do not fill the whole window. A shopfront that is entirely covered reads as closed or under renovation, which is the opposite of the intended effect.
