Think in sets, not single signs
The commonest mistake is buying signage one piece at a time. You end up with a fascia in one typeface, a reception logo in another, and room signs printed by whoever was cheapest that month.
A set designed together costs less than three separate jobs and looks like one company.
What actually earns its place in an office
Reception logo — the one people photograph and remember. Worth doing properly.
A directory people can read — dull and constantly used.
Room and door signs — including the meeting rooms, which get renamed more often than anyone plans for. Worth a system that allows changing one sign.
Frosting at seated height — privacy where it is needed without making the space feel closed.
Fire and safety signage — required, and cheap to get right.
Landlord specifications save money
Almost every Dubai building, mall and free zone publishes a signage specification: permitted sizes, positions, illumination, sometimes materials.
Designing without it and submitting for approval afterwards is how projects lose two weeks. Send us the document at the start.
How this is delivered
Falcon designs everything and prints all graphics, vinyl and panels. Fabricated signage and exterior installation are carried out by a licensed Dubai signage partner, who also handles permits for anything mounted outside.
Questions
Shopfront & office signage: Common questions
What does an office actually need?
Usually less than people expect on the outside and more on the inside. A reception logo and a directory people can read matter more than a large exterior sign nobody in a serviced building will ever look for. Meeting-room names, floor identification and clear frosting at seated height do the day-to-day work.
Which items need a permit?
Broadly, anything fixed to the outside of the building. Interior signage, vinyl on the inside of your own glass, and reception lettering generally do not. Anything on the fascia or projecting over a walkway does. We tell you which is which before you order.
Can you match signage to what the landlord allows?
Yes, and it saves a wasted round. Most Dubai buildings, malls and free zones publish a signage specification covering size, position, illumination and sometimes even the material. Send us that document and the design is built to it from the start.
Do you do the whole fit-out at once?
It is usually cheaper and more consistent to do so. Quoting the exterior, reception, wayfinding and glass together means one design pass and one installation visit rather than three, and the whole set matches.
