What's included

In the price you are quoted

  • Artwork built onto the dieline for the box you choose
  • Arabic and English on the same box, set as live text
  • A flat proof plus a folded sample where the run justifies it
  • Ingredient, allergen and barcode panels laid out to stay legible after folding
  • Free corrections at proof stage

The fold is the design problem

A food box is printed flat and then folded into three dimensions, so the panel your logo sits on may end up on the side, under a flap, or facing the floor. The flat artwork and the finished box are genuinely different things.

We lay every design onto the dieline and check what is actually visible once it is folded and sitting on a counter. That usually moves the logo.

Grease is what ruins cheap packaging

The failure mode of under-specified food packaging is not the print — it is the board. Grease strikes through, the box goes translucent and soft, and by the time the customer opens it the brand has been undone by the product inside it.

That is the whole reason for food-grade coated board rather than ordinary art paper with a varnish. It costs a little more per unit and it is not an upgrade worth skipping.

If the item is sold rather than served, you will usually need ingredients, allergens and a barcode, in Arabic as well as English. Putting those on a sticker afterwards costs more per unit and looks like an afterthought, because it is one. Build them into the print and they cost nothing extra.

Questions

Food packaging: Common questions

Is the board safe for hot and oily food?

Yes. These are food-grade boards with a coating rated for direct contact, which is what stops grease striking through and softening the box. It is not the same as ordinary art paper with a varnish on it, and you should not accept that as a substitute.

What is the minimum order for printed food boxes in Dubai?

One thousand units per design. Food packaging is cut on a die, and the die is made once for your box — so a run of 200 carries the same setup as a run of 2,000 and makes no sense.

Can you print the ingredients and allergen panel in Arabic and English?

Yes, and for food sold in the UAE you generally need both. We set Arabic as live right-to-left text rather than pasting in an image, so it stays sharp at the small sizes an ingredient panel is printed at.

Do I need to supply a dieline?

No. Each box shape has its own dieline and we supply it. Send your logo and brand colours and we lay the artwork onto it, including how the design crosses the folds.
